Ref.: Kontron Technology/MLA/2010 May 20th.

   *** WARNING ****

Please follow the guide lines in this this document very carefully, otherwise BIOS can get corrupted.

From MS-DOS or Windows you can upload a BIOS into the Motherboard like this:

Copy the files xxxxxxxx.rom, BF.EXE and Upd.bat to a directory on your target system.

Execute the Upd.bat

The BIOS upgrade (activated by upd.bat) need the ME engine to be disabled in other to prevent BIOS corruption.

Therefor upd (BF.exe) check if ME engine is disabled before BIOS upgrade.
If ME engine is not disabled then BF.exe make ME disabled.

You will see this message:

"ME engine not disabled! Its disabled now. Power off then update the BIOS again."
"Only the AMI bios part will be updated now. The AMT will not be updated"

Please notice that it looks like BIOS is being updated (the bar is counting up to 100%), but you still have
to follow the above message when the bar is completed. So turn off power completely, no standby power allowed,
recommended is removing the Main supply and wait minute.

Then connect power, boot and activate the upd again.

If ME engine is disabled you will not see the message above and then upd will continue writing the BIOS to the BIOS chip.

When the BIOS writing is completed then once again turn off power completely.

This makes sure that at next boot the ME engine is again enabled.

Enter BIOS if CMOS setup shall be modified.

Please notice the BF.EXE version MUST be version 7.46 or higher. By executing BF.EXE from
DOS prompt you will find the version 7.46 (dated 2010 May 20th) displayed as "BFLASH V7.46".
